Hotel
Le Meridien Penina Golf & Resort in the Algarve is one of the most spectacular resorts in Portugal. Its centerpiece, the Sir Henry Cotton 18-hole golf course, is a delight to play and will satisfy even the most demanding golfer. The resort is located between the traditional fishing port of Portimao and the historic town of Lagos. You will find few places in Europe with more beautiful beaches, fantastic food and hospitality.
The resort offers extensive leisure opportunities. Besides its 3 golf courses and its golf academy, you will find: water sports facilities, tennis courts and an academy, a world-class football pitch, a jogging circuit and a fully equipped gymnasium.
There is a free shuttle service to and from the beach throughout the season. The outdoor swimming pool is free for residents and includes sun beds and a towel service. Penguin Village - Le Meridien Penina's unique facility for children - offers a range of activities including an adventure play area, swimming pool and slide, crèche, toys, arts and crafts materials and a Penguin Mac Restaurant, which is open during Penguin Village opening times. Bicycles, film shows and a bouncy castle are further facilities for children. The Village is open from Easter to the end of October, Christmas and New Year seasons, seven days a week.

Golf
The Sir Henry Cotton Championship Course, formerly known as Penina is the main course of the Le Meridien Golf resort and can be considered as one of the best courses in the Algarve. The complete mix of hazards, make it a challenge and demand players to pay good attention to club selection. The course is very well maintained, bordered by trees and streams and presents golfers with a varying round.

Of the par-3's, the most memorable is the 13th - voted one of the best 500 holes in the world. The 185 metres (202 yards) 13th hole requires a long carry over water, the curving shape of the left-hand fairway, with out-of-bounds on both sides, encouraging the shot to deviate right into the hazard. The course is characterized by an unusual grouping of the par-5's, with four of the five arranged together in pairs at the beginning and end of the back nine producing a par of 38 as opposed to 35 for the front nine.

From Faro International Airport: Take the N125 10: Take the exit towards Estadio Algarve Lisboa Portimao Loule. Continue along A22. Proceed towards Lisboa Albufeira and continue until Exit 4 M531 1 Alvor. Turn right on the roundabout. The hotel is approximately 1 km ahead on the left.
