Situated in the resort of Maspalomas, this Mackenzie Ross designed course opened in 1968. Maspalomas Golf is surrounded by palm trees and the famous sand dunes of Maspolomas beach which gives the golf course a unique feel. The course starts with a fairly gentle par 4 measuring 367m and at stroke index 13 there is a real chance of getting your round off to a great start with a par or even a birdie. The 10th hole is an interesting par 3 that on inspection of the card appears fairly benign at 140m, however, you may feel different when you arrive at the tee. Your tee shot will have to carry an expanse of water and with trees protecting the left and right there is little room for error. Maspalomas golf club has hosted two PGA tour events in 1995 and 1997, the events were won by Jarmo Sandelin and Spain’s José Maria Olazabal.
